TIP OF THE WEEK: DIY FLEA COLLARS

Those of us with pets might struggle a bit with fleas this time of year.  Here is a terrific "recipe" I found for a Do-It-Yourself Herbal flea collar that not only works, but is free of harmful chemicals.

1 untreated soft felt collar

Mix together:
2 teaspoons pure alcohol
1 tablespoon rosemary essential oil
1 tablespoon  lemon verbena essential oil
1 tablespoon lavender essential oil
1 tablespoon pennyroyal essential oil
Oil of 4 garlic capsules

Soak the flea collar thoroughly in the mixture, then dry.  The effect lasts for one month.
